Price range: $95.00 through $140.00

There are two versions of this course.

As of January 1, 2024, the state of Washington requires that all health care providers receive training in Health Equity. That does include chiropractic x-ray technicians, and the requirement for chiropractic x-ray technicians is 2 hours every four years. The two hours of Health Equity training can contribute to the total of 6 hours of continuing education that is required annually for chiropractic x-ray technicians in WA state.

Therefore, on a year that you take health equity training, you might want just 4 hours of continuing education in x-ray technology. For this reason we’ll be offering the usual 6-hour class, as well as a 4-hour version of the same class, which will just omit the last two units.

RADIOGRAPHING THE DIFFICULT CASE

This course covers various issues that can challenge even an experienced x-ray technician. It presents x-ray views that may be somewhat difficult on their own, or views that are very useful but not produced very often. Useful tips are offered for challenging body types, such as large, muscular, or osteoporotic patients; certain conditions, such as scoliosis, hyperkyphosis, and hyperlordosis; and certain patient groups, such as children, elderly, and people speaking languages that are different from your own. There are tips for dealing with patients in pain, or who are antalgic, coughing, or who have a tremor. There are also tips for patients who are worried, crabby, or who need lots of information; and lastly, what to do when work is too rushed.

As a chiropractic x-ray tech, your license expires each year on your birthday. You are required to take 6 hours of C.E. credit each year in order to renew your license.

Non-chiropractic x-ray techs have a 2-year license interval, and do not have a continuing education requirement, but are welcome to take the course!

If you’ve taken the 72-hour introductory class within the past 12 months, and you’ve had a birthday after you received your initial license, you need to take 6 hours of CE before your next birthday.

If none of this helps, contact the Chiropractic Quality Assurance Commission (CQAC) — see the info in the sidebar at the right.

Beginning in 2024, everyone in  a licensed healthcare profession will be required to take 2 hours of Health Equity training every four years as part of their required CE hours. We will have both 4-hour and 6-hour versions of our courses from 2024 onward, so you can pick the one that gives you the correct number of hours.
